Valero Energy Foundation does Whatever It Takes to support the youth of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor

WILMINGTON, Calif. (October 2019) – Since the Boys & Girls Club of San Pedro merged with the Boys & Girls Club of Wilmington in 2004, the Valero Energy Foundation has been a Corporate Partner committed to supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor. More recently, the Valero Energy Foundation has renewed their commitment of Being All In and doing Whatever It Takes to serve the youth in our community. Come join us as we celebrate Valero’s commitment and announce the details of our latest partnership with Valero. At 3pm, there will be tour of the Club facilities, and at 4pm there will be a special announcement and celebration! The Valero Foundation collaborates with nonprofit partners across the United States to foster improved quality of life and create measurable impact where unmet needs exist in communities. They have partnered with the BGCLAH as they strive to close the gap on education. Valero has been a continuing partner in STEM for the BGCLAH. Their funding has helped the 2,600 members served DAILY across 19 sites to have access to STEM programming, robotics, 3-D printing and animation, and so much more.

In 2018, the BGCLAH embarked on a $9 Million Comprehensive Campaign. The Opportunity Bridge campaign will provide funding in three areas: Make improvements to the Club-owned facilities to better serve the ever-expanding number of youth who need our services; Fund expansion and sustainability of programing, staffing, and administrative infrastructure; and Build endowment to ensure stable funding through estate and planned gifts. Through this campaign, the BGCLAH can continue to ensure that the youth in our communities, especially those who need us most, can rely on a safe, welcoming environment to experience arts, sports, educational enrichment and most importantly, the mentoring and support they need to continue onto their pathway to success.
