PVG Foundation Bike Giveaway
What so many of us may have taken for granted in our youth is often not available to many youth from low-income families – the pleasure of a ride on your first bicycle. For these kids, a bike can mean the difference between getting to school or not, getting to see the world beyond your neighborhood – getting a chance.
100 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor (BCGLAH) youth, ages 7-18, received a brand new bicycle in the presence of their family, friends and the community thanks to the PVG Foundation!
The selected youth participated in an essay contest to detail why a new bicycle would make a difference for them. Two of the most impressive essays writers shared their essay with attendees at the event and 20 essays winners were displayed. The Torrance Police and Fire Departments were in attendance to help our members learn about Bike Safety!
