Jesse Perez has been a member of the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club for five years. While overcoming extensive barriers in his home life, Jesse has been able to excel academically and personally. Jesse is a senior at San Pedro high school, where is participates in JV Wrestling, JV Swim, Principle Dance and Drill Team. He continues to accelerate in his academics, earning Gold and Silver Honors awards while taking multiple AP classes. Jesse’s passion for dance has helped him preserve through hardships. During his sophomore year, he auditioned for every show and never was given a solo. Jesse continued to preserve, worked on his technique and eventually was awarded the title of Mr. Dance San Pedro, the award for the best male dancer. His passion for dance is just one example of his “that no matter the circumstances, as long as you put your absolute best forward, you can accomplish anything.”
