Career Bound

Career readiness for our youth.

Career Bound is a workforce development program, with multi-organizational collaborations, dedicated to identifying, mentoring, and providing pathway opportunities to guide our youth towards a prosperous and rewarding future in the workforce.

Career Bound strives to prepare our youth for post high school employment. The four main objectives for this program are:

  1. High School Graduation or equivalency

  2. Employment Readiness Training

  3. Work Experience/ Internships

  4. Post High School Placement

  • Pre-apprenticeship programs/in club & out of club work-based learning –Identifying opportunities for potential internships through BGCLAH connections to the community to get our participants prepared to enter the workforce. Such connections include our partners such as the Port of Los Angeles, DivergeIT, Mattel, Destination Hotels, Coastline Equity, the now City Councilman Tim McOsker and partnership with “6” local trade unions.

  • Trade Skills Training: We are providing hands-on skills training in both welding and construction for both High School Students and Transitioned Aged Youth (18-24 year old).

  • Employment – Some employment opportunities are available all year ‘round and especially through the City’s Youth Employment and Youth Source programs. Additionally, through our case managers and partnerships with local businesses AND our trade unions or local contractors.
